Student of HAU, Hisar selected in ISRO

Chandigarh, September 12 2021  Shivanshi Yadav, a student of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana, has been selected in Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to pursue post graduation. She will pursue her post graduation degree in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), a unit of ISRO at Dehradun. It is a two-year programme under which she will complete first year study in ISRO and second year study from University of Twente (ITC), Netherlands

Giving information in this regard, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. B.R. Kamboj said that only 10 students from across the country have been selected for this course and Shivanshi is one of them. He said that this would inspire other students of the university as well and they would make efforts to continue their higher education from reputed universities of the world. He said that the University is getting in touch with world class educational institutions for national and international level exposure to the students. Now the students of the university are consistently striving to get higher education from reputed universities across the world.

Appreciating the hard work of the student, he wished her all success in her future endeavours. He said that Shivanshi has found her way to ISRO by putting in continuous hard work. In the same manner, she will continue to achieve high goals in her life, he added.

Shivanshi hails from Khushpura village in Rewari district. She completed her secondary education from Rewari. After completing her senior secondary education from Jhajjar, she got admission in B-tech in HAU. Sh. Vijay Kumar, father of Shivanshi is working as Assistant Agricultural Engineer in Agriculture Department in Mewat while her mother Smt. Pushpa Yadav is a homemaker. Her father has been her source of motivation to join this field.
