Tour start from border district Fazilka

Chandigarh, April 4 :- 

          To be well aware of the ground reality of government schools in the state, School Education Minister Mr Harjot Singh Bains has started a State tour.

          The tour is being started today from the Fazilka district and will continue throughout April.

          Mr Bains will start his tour on 4th April 2023 from  Fazilka and on April 5 in Ferozepur,  Ropar and Mohali on April 6, Amritsar on April 7 and 8, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Bathinda, Sri Muktsar Sahib on April 12 and 13, Jalandhar on April 17, Fatehgarh Sahib on April 18,  They will inspect schools in Patiala, Ludhiana, Malerkotla, Faridkot, Moga and Barnala on April 20, 21 and 22, Sangrur and Mansa on April 24, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Pathankot and Gurdaspur on April 27, 28 and 29.

          During this visit, Mr Bains will get information about new admissions, books, uniforms, and the basic structure of schools.

          Giving information about his visit, Education Minister Mr Harjot Singh Bains said that as per the instructions of  Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the policy of the school education department can be made by understanding the ground needs to make it better, for which this visit is very important instead of sitting in the offices of Chandigarh.

          He said that  The government led by Bhagwant Mann has promised to provide the best education to the people of Punjab which they will leave no stone unturned to fulfil.

—Issue dedicated to the birth anniversary of Shaheed E Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh

Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Wednesday released special issue of children magazine ‘Pankhariyan’ dedicated to the birth anniversary of Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh

Accompanied by the Punjab School Education Board Chairman Prof. Yograj, the Minister, while releasing the special magazine’s issue, said that it is a very informative edition carrying several incidents related to Bhagat Singh’s life and ideology. The special issue will be provided to all libraries of Government, private and affiliated schools.

Pointing out further, the Minister also said that there is a high time to keep our children abreast with the historic events and literature, which could further play a pivotal role in improving the life and personality of students.

It is worth mentioning that the special issue of ‘Pankhariyan’ for the month of September is dedicated to Teacher’s Day and the birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh.  In this issue, articles, poems and other valuable materials have been invited and published by various scholars.  Apart from this, Messages of Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann, School Education Minister Mr.  Harjot Singh Bains, Professor Yograj Chairman, Punjab School Education Board Vice Chairman Dr.  Varinder Bhatia and  Secretary Swati Tiwana (PCS) are also specially published in this issue.

On this occasion, besides others, Chief Editor Mrs. Amarjit Kaur Dalam, Editor Pankharian, Darshan Singh Banur, and Other senior officials DPI and Punjab School Education Board were also present.

On the directions of Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, a special training session was held for school heads to inform them about submission of applications related to different scholarship schemes and awards through the portal.

The training was imparted through Edusat system so that all the formalities for scholarships and awards could be followed accurately. Assistant Director-cum-State Nodal Scholarship Officer Parminder Kaur while imparting the training briefed about all relevant formalities and procedure to be followed on portal at the time of application.

Disclosing this, an official Spokesperson said that Punjab Government had taken series of path breaking initiatives in education department to further bring reforms in the facilities. He said it was also focused in the training that concerned schools heads and teachers should make a plan to ensure benefits of scholarships to maximum students across state. He said that there were various scholarship schemes based on attendance of students, merits of students and some of related with the results and their merit.

The spokesperson stated that schools heads and principals should go through the instructions after clicking scholarship link on the website of Education Department and then follow the necessary directions in letter and spirit. He said students should also make apprise about the schemes related with their parents. It was also informed in the training session that the entire record of the scholarship schemes should be maintained so that it could be easily ascertained in future, when needed.

Congratulating the newly appointed librarians, the Cabinet Minister exhorted them to work with honesty and great zeal besides providing their best services to the people.
