Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will inaugurate a 225-MLD sewage treatment plant (STP) constructed at a cost of Rs 315 crores in Jamalpur on Monday. This is a biggest STP of the state.

Presiding over a meeting to review preparations of function, MLA Daljit Singh Grewal and Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik inspected work on the newly-constructed 225 MLD STP. They said that the STP was a part of the ongoing project for the rejuvenation of Buddha Dariya.

MLA Grewal and DC asked the officials to discharge their duties with utmost dedication and sincerity and ensure fool proof arrangements by meticulously planning and execution.

MC Commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal, CEO Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board Malwinder Singh Jaggi, GLADA Additional Chief Administrator Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, ADCs Rahul Chaba, Amarjit Bains, MC Additional Commissioner Aditya Dachalwal and other officials were also present during the meeting.

Ludhiana (East) MLA Daljit Singh Grewal today took up issue related to the under construction Tibba Road-Tajpur Road bridge on National Highway with Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Varinder Kumar Sharma. The MLA today held a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner in his office, here.

While issuing a press release, MLA Daljit Singh Grewal said that the DC has been asked to convene a special meeting with the senior officials of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in this regard for the speedy construction of this bridge.

He said that due to slow pace of the construction of this bridge, entire area suffers from traffic congestion, resulting in wastage of time and sometimes even accidents take place. He said that special emphasis is being given towards the timely completion of this project.

Besides, he also took up several other developmental issues with the Deputy Commissioner.

The Deputy Commissioner has assured fulsome support to the MLA and said that a meeting with senior NHAI officials would be convened soon.
