Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) tableau is selected as the best central ministry tableau for Republic Day 2022. The tableau of Ministry of Civil Aviation showcased Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) – UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) and the rich dividends it has been yielding. Conceptualized by the Ministry and implemented by AAI, the scheme has the objective of enhancing regional connectivity in an economically sustainable and affordable manner.

Launched in 2016, UDAN scheme aims to fulfil the aspirations of the common man by following the vision of Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik with an enhanced aviation infrastructure and air connectivity in tier II and III cities. In a short span of 5 years, today 403 UDAN routes connect 65 underserved/unserved airports, including heliports and water aerodromes, and over 80 lakh people have benefited from it. UDAN scheme has immensely benefitted several sectors pan-India including Hilly States, North-Eastern region and Islands

UDAN has a positive impact on the economy of the country and has witnessed an excellent response from industry stakeholders especially airlines operators and state government. More than 350 new city pairs are now scheduled to be connected under the scheme with 200 already connected  and are widely spread geographical providing connectivity across the length and breath of the country as well as ensuring balanced regional growth resulting in economic growth and employment to local population.

The scheme also lead to development of new Green Field Airports such as Pakyong Airport near Gangtok in Sikkim, Tezu Airport in Arunachal Pradesh and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh. The scheme also led to 5% incremental growth in domestic passenger share of non-metro airports.

In aircraft shaped tableau, the front part showcases women pilots depicting women power in India’s aviation, as India tops in women commercial pilots, globally. The rear portion of the tableau shows symbol of Buddhism and motto of UDAN- Sab Uden, Sab Juden. The middle portion showcases Buddha circuit, featuring, Buddha Statue at Gaya where He attained enlightenment, Dhamekh Stupa, Sarnath where He delivered his first sermon (Dharmachakra Parivartan) and the Mahaparinirvana Stupa, Kushinagar where He attained Mahaparinirvana. Both sides of the middle portion of the tableau depict heritage sites- Humayun tomb from North, Konark sun temple in East, Hampi temple chariot in South and Ajanta caves in West, connected with air services.

On the occasion of Republic Day-2022, the Department of Forest, Social Forestry and other allied wings organized plantation drives at various locations across all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The idea behind such plantation drives is to involve different stakeholders of civil society viz. common people, farmers, students, NGOs, Govt employees etc. with the engagement of members of PRIs to create awareness about the importance of increasing forest cover for environmental sustainability in J&K.
According to official release by Department of Social Forestry, which is one of the important partners in “J&K Green Drive” initiative under “Har Gaon Haryali” campaign of J&K Government, the department in collaboration with RDD organized Special Plantation Drives in Gram Panchayats/ prominent places across UT of J&K on the Republic Day-2022.
The plantation events organised at 1134 locations across 20 districts of the UT were held during the day long programme where more than 15000 plants were planted despite inclement weather conditions at many places.
The plantation drives were led by elected PRI representatives’ i.e DDC/ BDC Chairmen/ Members, Sarpanchs/ Panchs (Chairmen, VPPCs) and by other reputed social servants at some places.
The district-wise details of plantation drives held are as: (Jammu- 198), (Kathua-158), (Samba 73), (Udhampur- 72), (Reasi-47), (Ramban64), (Doda 37), (Kishtwar-21), (Rajouri-77), (Poonch-66) in Jammu Province and (Srinagar-16), (Budgam-25), (Ganderbal-35), (Anantnag-31), (Kulgam-10), (Pulwama-43), (Shopian-36), (Baramulla-35), (Bandipora-30) and (Kupwara-60) in Kashmir Province. As many as 1048 DDC/BDCs/Gram Panchayats/ Municipal Committees participated and led the plantation drives.
PCCF/Director, Social Forestry Department, J&K, Roshan Jaggi on the occasion expressed his satisfaction on the success of the programme where full support and cooperation of PRIs was received.
He appreciated the efforts of the officers/officials of the Department for holding the programmes in an effective and planned manner amid Covid-19 crises by following due CAB norms. He acknowledged the cooperation of the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj for providing logistical support throughout the campaign.
It has been informed by the Director that such voluntary/special plantation drives and other extension activities were part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” commemorations and shall continue during ensuing months especially in Kashmir Valley as soon as weather improves.
He further informed that the Department shall achieve the target for regular plantations of more than 22 lakh saplings across 20 districts of the UT during current FY. In addition, more than 3 lakh saplings shall also be planted through special voluntary plantation drives involving various stakeholders.
The Director appealed to the people to join hands with the department to achieve the goal of Green J&K, as fixed by the Government led by Lieutenant Governor.

State Government had announced a special remission between 7 to 45 days to prisoners on their good conduct in the various prisons of the State on Republic Day-2022.

A Spokesperson of the State Government said here today that 345 prisoners of the various prisons of the State would be benefitted by this remission whereas two prisoners will be released on completion of their punishment term on Republic Day-2022.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to discuss and finalize the arrangements for smooth and successful celebration of the Republic Day-2022 in the district.

The meeting was held under strict adherence of COVID protocol and all the participants were fully masked.
It was decided in the meeting that the main function will be held at District Police Lines, Shopian where Chief Guest will unfurl the National Flag and take salute at the March past comprising the contingents of CRPF, JKP, Home Guard and Fire & Emergency.
Flag hoisting Ceremony will also be held at Sub-Divisional and Tehsil Levels.
The meeting was told that the Republic Day celebrations will begin with playing of Shehnai Vadan at designated places by the Information Department in the wee hours.
For smooth conduct of the National event, the meeting constituted the reception committee, illumination committee and cultural programme committee for the successful celebration of the National Function.
The DC laid special emphasis on adherence to Covid Appropriate Behavior while observing the Republic Day Celebrations so as to minimize the chances of its spread.
A detailed discussion was also held on various issues regarding seating arrangements, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first-aid, PAS, fire-tenders, Media gallery, among others.
The DC directed the concerned Executive Engineers to ensure adequate arrangements of barricading, seating and drinking water supply besides uninterrupted power supply on the day of function.
He also passed directions to the concerned officers to ensure ambulance, fire tender, security and provision of adequate manpower at the venue of the event.
Calling for strict compliance to COVID SOPs while performing different activities related to the National day celebrations, DC asked for ensuring that all the COVID related protocols are strictly adhered to by all the participants during rehearsals and on the scheduled day to avoid the risk of infection.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, ASP, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shopian, SDM Zainapora, Chief Education Officer, Executive Engineers of PHE, PWD and PDD, Tehsildars and all other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today chaired a meeting of officers to review the preparations for celebration of forthcoming 73rd Republic Day-2022 here in the district.

At the outset, detailed discussion was held regarding security arrangements, Seating arrangements, Parking arrangements, Sanitation, drinking water, Electricity, Medical aid and other emergency facilities at Qamaria ground where the main function will be organized.
The DC directed the concerned to ensure arrangements regarding various facilities including transport, parking, seating, availability of drinking water, uninterrupted electricity supply, deployment of health, fire and emergency staff and other related arrangements.
The Health Department was directed to deploy ambulance at the venue with sufficient staff and emergency medicines on the full dress rehearsal to be held on January 24 and on the main function to be celebrated on January 26. Besides, to make arrangements of first aid, sanitizers and masks at the venue along with thermal screening of the audience on the day of the function.
The Power Development department was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply at the venue during rehearsal and on the main function day with adequate power backup at the venue.
The PHE Department was instructed to place sufficient water Tankers at the venue from January 24.
Municipal Council Ganderbal was asked to take proper sanitation measures to ensure proper cleanliness in and around the venue.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today chaired a meeting of district officers and various security agencies for finalising arrangements in connection with upcoming Republic Day-2022 celebrations.
The meeting was informed that the main function of the Day shall be held at Sports Stadium, Budgam while similar functions would be held at sub-division and Tehsil levels also.
It was also given out that the contingents of JKP, CRPF, NCC will participate in the march past parade. Besides various cultural programmes would also be part of the celebrations and an award felicitation ceremony will also be held at the venue.
On the occasion, various committees like the hospitality committee, stage management committee, selection committee were formed for the smooth conduct of the celebrations.
Different departments viz, Education, PHE, R&B, DYSSO, Information, Health, Sports, Traffic, Motor Vehicles, Police, Floriculture, PDD, Municipality and Paramilitary Forces were  identified for looking after their respective assignments.
The decoration of the main venue ground, seating arrangements, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water/tanker service, barricading of venue, medical aid camp, availability of ambulance, deployment of fire tenders, transportation facilities, adequate and separate vehicle parking, refreshment,  invitations, PAS system, brochures, cleanliness and sanitation measures were discussed threadbare in the meeting.
The DC stressed upon strict observance of COVID-19 SOPs and CAB by all participants with special emphasis on march past parades and cultural programmes. The DC further instructed upon smooth transportation, mobile toilets and change room facilities for participants.
Security agencies were instructed to ensure fool-proof security arrangements at all the venues where functions in this regard will be held across the district.
Heads of departments were also instructed to install banners of their departments for showcasing their activities for the general public.
Among others the meeting was attended by ADDC Budgam, ADC, J.D Planning, GM DIC, ACD, CEO Yousmarg and Doodhpathri, CEO, District Officers, DSP DAR,  heads of security agencies, Ex. Engineers of R&B, I&FC and other concerned officers and officials.

Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve today chaired a meeting of officers regarding the arrangements being put in place by the District Administration for the celebration of Republic Day-2022 in the district.

Officers of Health, Municipal Committee, Youth Services and Sports, Education, Information, Executive Engineers of R&B, P1-IF, POD, I&FC, Mechanical Division, Culture, besides concerned officers of various departments were present during the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that the main function of the Republic Day will be held at Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium, Bemathang, while similar functions would be held at Sub Divisional and Tehsil level. The National Flag will be hoisted by the VIP and Republic Day parade will be held while ensuring proper adherence to Covid-19 SOPs.

During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on various aspects related to the necessary arrangements like decoration of main venue, seating, PA system, power supply, drinking water, medical facilities, availability of ambulances, deployment of fire tenders, invitations, cleanliness and sanitation, traffic management and other required arrangements.

DC Santosh directed the concerned officers to ensure proper social distancing norms are followed while making the seating arrangements for participants during the event.

He also instructed the CMO Kargil to ensure disposable mask and sanitizers for invitees, participants as well as the officers deployed on duty. He also instructed the CMO to keep necessary arrangements for rapid test on the venue as precautionary measure.

DC Santosh stressed officers to put in place all necessary arrangements for the smooth functioning of the Republic Day celebrations.
