Teachers should give the values of service to students
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has said that the teachers should impart education to students keeping their ideals of conduct and values afore. Give place to both cosmic and transcendental subjects in the syllabus. He has said that students are the asset of our country. They are the nation builders who will take the country on the path of development. Therefore, our behaviour with them should be such that there should be no dissatisfaction in their mind. It is the responsibility of the teachers to inculcate a sense of service in them. This spirit will be awakened in the students only when we all diligently fulfill our responsibilities. Shri Patel was giving a virtual address on the 54th Foundation Day celebrations of Awadhesh Pratap Singh University from Raj Bhavan, Bhopal today.
Governor Shri Patel has asked all the teachers to make talented students realize their full potential, enrich their skills, knowledge and motivate them to contribute to the society. He told the students to ponder upon what they are doing and what they can do for the development of our society, state and country. He has said that our country is the country of Buddha, Gandhi and Vivekananda, with its foundation based on Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, where in every person’s heart there is compassion, non-violence, tolerance. Our country is known as the Vishwa Guru due to these qualities. He has said that the aim of education should be to make students self-dependent and stand on their feet. Education should not be just to acquire a job. Education should help in developing the physical, mental, spiritual and character of the student, only bookish knowledge is not adequate. Education should be such that there is a sense of responsibility to perform duties along with rights.
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that the future of the nation depends only on the active contribution of the students in the work of upliftment of the country and society. In every era and time, there is a challenge before the youth to deal with problems, it will continue to be so. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the teachers to inculcate the confidence and will power in the youth to move forward with determination, fight the problems and turn the tide to their favour. He said that we are all fortunate that education is not limited to any religion, class, sect, rich and powerful. The education system of our country only demands hard work, dedication and strong will power. There are so many talented students from the poorest of poor families who are reaching new heights with their hard work and dedication despite the family’s poverty, responsibilities and adversity. He said that the need is to fulfill the duty. The biggest virtue is to adhere to time and discipline. Students should aim to acquire education with patience and concentration.
