THE NEW SHOPPING FEATURE ON WHATSAPP

With the advancing of technology everything is being done online. People spend most of their time on phone. Social media is the new trend. Every one has an account on social media handles like Instagram, Snapchat, and WhatsApp. People prefer communicating each other on social media more than in real life. WhatsApp was barely used by people a few years ago, but these days it is so popular that even old people use it on a daily basis. With it’s growing popularity the WhatsApp team is introducing new features everyday. Another new one recently introduced is the shopping feature.

Sometime back, WhatsApp introduced business accounts to help sellers expand their business using social network. This new initiative is a part of it. Through the new shopping feature people can explore catalogues of different sellers and make purchases on WhatsApp directly. This would help sellers expand their profits as WhatsApp is quite simple to use as compared to emerging shopping sites.

This move of WhatsApp has been an initiative of Unified Payments Interface (UPI).

 

How Does The Shopping Feature Work?

 

Earlier, a person had to tap on the business profile to see the catalogue they offered. With this new feature, there is a new icon which looks like a door of a store. If you click the icon, the catalogue of the particular business profile would open up before you. WhatsApp has revealed that the option is now available worldwide. To avoid the hassle of clicking on the business profile, the voice call button in business profiles would be replaced by the shopping button. On the other hand, a single call button would be introduced which would display option of both voice and video call. The developers of WhatsApp believe that this new feature would be extremely beneficial for the sellers as well as the consumers.
