Effigy of Raja Amarinder Singh and Dharamsot burnt under the leadership of AAP MLA Master Baldev Singh Jaito

Aam Aadmi Party today protested in front of district administrative complex and called for the dismissal of Cabinet Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, embroiled in the latest scam in the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme meant for numerous deserving students belonging to Dalit families during which the effigies of Chief Minister and Sadhu Singh Dharamsot were burnt and slogans raised against the prevailing corruption in the present government.

The protest was led by AAP MLA Master Baldev Singh Jaito. Local leaders included Manjinder Singh Lalpura, Gurdev Singh Lakhna, Ranjit Singh Cheema, Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal, Baljit Singh Khaira Khemkaran, Laljit Singh Bhullar, Harjit Singh Sidhu, Dalbir Singh Tong.

Speaking on the occasion, AAP legislator accused the Chief Minister of going beyond all moral and administrative boundaries to save his corrupt minister (Dharamsot) who was directly involved in the embezzlement of Rs 63.91 crore in post matric scholarship scheme meant for providing financial assistance to the dalit students .

Commenting on handing over the departmental probe into the scholarship scam  to two officers by the Union government , Baldev Singh said that the probe should be carried out by any agency but under the supervision of the sitting judges of the Hon’ble High Court in a timebound manner and the span of probe should be extended to 2012-13, as the embezzlement of more than Rs. 1200 crore in the post-matric scholarship scheme had surfaced during the tenure of the then Badal government.

On this occasion AAP leaders said that Sadhu Singh Dharamsot is the murderer of future of millions of diligent Dalit students. Keeping in view the seriousness of the documentary evidence submitted to the government by the Additional Chief Secretary against Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot for embezzling Rs. 63.91 crore in Dalit students’ scholarship scheme, the corrupt Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot should have been sacked at once apart from registering  criminal case against him but instead of dismissing Dharamsot, Raja Amarinder Singh has started the process of issuing ‘clean chit’ to him.

During the dharna Master Baldev Singh announced that the struggle of AAP would continue till the Congress sacked Dharamsot and a criminal case is filed against the entire ‘gang’ flourishing under the patronage of Sadhu Singh Dharamsot.
