UILS celebrated “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”

In consonance with the noble initiative of the Indian Government, the University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University organised a plethora of events under the umbrella of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”.

The event comprised a singing competition (Melodious Melodies), an Essay Writing Competition (The Writer’s Retreat) and a speech recitation competition (Let’s recite the Ideals of Independence). The event aimed at celebrating the air of freedom, the joy of independence and the student’s undying love for   their country.

The programme was organised by student coordinators of the event (Ankur Goyat, Jaya Kohli, Ramya Jit Kaur and Gurpreet) under the able guidance and support of Dr. Rajinder Kaur, Dr. Sasha Tandon, Dr. Pushpinder Kaur and Dr. Meenu Kaushik.

While in the singing competition,the first and second prizes were bagged by Saumya Singh and  Ramandeep Kaur respectively; in the speech recitation competition, Chirag Chaudhry bagged the first prize, followed by Armaan Kukreja and Meit Kaushal. The results of the essay writing competition shall be announced later.

Overall, the event was a grand success both in terms of the students’ participation and enthusiasm as well in inculcating the true spirit of patriotism in the minds of the students.
