Visit of delegation from Western Sydney University, Australia to Panjab University, Chandigarh, on March 28, 2023 (Tuesday)

Chandigarh March 28, 2023 :- 

 A delegation from Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia, visited Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, on Friday to explore opportunities for academic collaboration and student exchange. The WSU team, led by Professor Linda Taylor, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International), met with PU officials, including Director (Research and Development cell) Professor Harsh Nayyar, Prof. NavdeepGoyal, Dean Sciences and Dean International Students Professor S K Kansal, to discuss various aspects of partnership between the two universities. “We are delighted to be here at Panjab University, which is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in India. We see many areas of common interest and potential collaboration, such as research in Sciences especiallyforensic sciences,pharmaceutical sciences, environmental sciences and agricultural sciences,” Professor Taylor said. Further, Dr. Graciela Matternicht, Dean, School of Science, WSU lauded the quality of education and research at Panjab University, and the diversity and vibrancy of its campus. We believe that our universities can benefit greatly from each other’s expertise and resources, and we look forward to exploring further opportunities for academic and cultural exchange,” Professor Taylor added.

Director (RDC) Professor Harsh expressed his appreciation for the visit and the potential for collaboration between PU and WSU.

“Panjab University has a long tradition of international partnerships and collaborations, and we welcome the interest and enthusiasm of our colleagues from Western Sydney University. We believe that our universities can complement each other in many ways, and we look forward to exploring joint projects and programs that can benefit our students and societies,” Professor Harsh said.

The visit of the WSU delegation to PU is part of a broader engagement between Australia and India in higher education and research,as both countries seek to deepen their ties and address common challenges in a rapidly changing world.
