World TB Day observed in Kargil
KARGIL MARCH 24, 2021: Like other parts of the country, World Tuberculosis Day was observed in Kargil today.
In this connection, a function was organized by the District Tuberculosis Control Society at District Hospital Kargil.
Executive Councilor for Social Welfare Aga Syed Hassan Arman Mosavi was the chief guest on the occasion while the Executive Councilor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan was the guest of honor.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kargil Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Deputy CMO Mumtaz Ahmad Var, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kargil Dr Haji Muhammad Ali, BMO Kargil Dr Liyaqat Ali , District Tuberculosis Officer Dr Fatima Nissa, Medical Officers ,students of AMT School, ASHA Workers, FMPHWs, NTEP staffs and other paramedical staff were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, EC Aga Arman stressed the participants to work with dedication and sincerity in their respective areas to extend best possible healthcare services and necessary awareness about different communicable diseases including TB. He also advised participants to strictly follow the SOPs to prevent the community from COVID-19.
Executive Councilor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan in his address appreciated the Health Department Kargil for organizing such kind of important days at the district headquarter and other parts of the district to disseminate the important messages regarding TB and other communicable diseases among the community.
CMO Kargil advised the participants to implement the NTEP Scheme as well as other national programmes of Health Department at grass roots level to build a healthy community.
On the occasion, the District Tuberculosis Officer Kargil delivered the welcome speech and through a power point presentation briefed about the present scenario of TB Control Program in Kargil district. She stressed to take the benefits available under the NTEP scheme like free investigation, free drugs and free incentives to the beneficiaries etc.
Dr Zakir Hussain Medical Officer NTPHC Trespone also gave a power point presentation on signs, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of TB under newly revised scheme National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP).
