Wildlife Week Celebrations at the Chhatbir Zoo

The ongoing wildlife week celebrations were commemorate with a valedictory ceremony at the Chhatbir Zoo. The full week were spicily organized for the mass mobilization of the zoo visitors in which they were sensitize towards wildlife and nature conservation.

Zoo keeper’s talk, mini marathon, Cyclothon, cleanliness drives, pledge ceremony and various competitions among school students was organized during the week. Today a function was organized by the zoo authority in which Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Mrs. Pratima Srivastava IFS was invited as Chief Guest. In this function the kids of Genius World School performed a street play regarding wildlife conservation and pollution. A special play named “Pralaya” was performed by the kids of Asiana Foundation. The whole acts were very impressive and message full. The pledge ceremony also conducted in whichall the officers, staff, school students, teachers and visitors take pledge to save wildlife and environment. After this prize distribution ceremony was conducted in which the winners of the various competitions were awarded by Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Mrs. Pratima Srivastava IFS and Field Director Neeraj Kumar PFS. The following winners were awarded in the small ceremonial function.

Today a special Zoo Keepers’ talk on bears were organized for the visitors where visitors were informed about the behaviors and habits of the bears and their natural environment and their need. The difference between a wild bear and bear in the zoo also were explained.
