Final match of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali T-20 Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament concludes at Drass

Kargil, October 23:

The final match of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali T-20 Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament of Sub-division Drass was played today between Friends Drass and Dardic Legend Shimsha which was won by Friends Drass by 51 runs.

Reyaz Naqvi Captain of Friends Drass won the toss and opted to bat first in a good batting track which worked in their favour. Taking advantage Friends Drass managed to score 183/8 in 20 overs with two openers Gulzar Ahmad and Gh Hussain managing quickfire 42 each.

Mustafa and Muzaffar of Dardic Shimsha managed 2 wickets each. Chasing a huge total Dardic Shimsha could score only 132 losing all wickets in 18.4 overs with young 16-year-old Ibrahim scoring 49 runs.

Gulzar Ahmad of Friends Drass was declared as the man of the match for scoring a quickfire 42 and taking 3 wickets. He was also adjusted man of the series for scoring 2 fifties in the tournament.

Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Aga Syed Mehdi Fazili was the chief guest on the occasion and Noor Mohammad BDC Chairperson Drass was the guest of honour.

DySP Headquarters Kargil Manzoor Ahmad was the special guest. In addition Block Officers, Sarpanches, panches, respectable citizens, senior players and huge spectators attended the event. Free premium cricket kits to all participating teams, trophies and cash prizes were also distributed.
