JAMMU, MAY 07: Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu today refuted the news reports appearing in a section of press regarding transportation of para-medical staff and notification of some Wards in SSH as COVID wards.
The GMC Jammu said that it requested the Managing Director, J&K State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) Jammu for deployment of SRTC buses to facilitate staff members as the private transport was not on roads. Three Student buses have been pressed into service for facilitating the staff members for attending the COVID duties which otherwise cannot be suspended in view of the spike of CovID-19 cases. The SRTC has again been vociferously requested to provide the buses without any delay and the issue shall be resolved soon.
The GMC further informed that due to lack of beds in hospitals for COVID patients and to save their precious lives in these crucial hours, GMC Jammu notified some Wards of SSH as COVID ward as the Hospital (SSH)  has 750 LMP of oxygen plants, which can be used for COVID Patient  Management. It is pertinent to mention here that all the SoP’s are followed for the care of dialysis patients.
