The visa interview is a very important step that could be intimidating to some people. But don’t worry! Below you will find some tips on how to pass your student visa interview
(1) Practice your english as often as possible
This will help you communicate with the officers in the embassy or consulate. This will also be helpful in your future studies. There are many ways you can practice, for example by watching American TV shows, listening and translating your favorite music songs, reading books in English, and many others.
(2) Prepare an explanation
It is important to prepare an explanation for some of the most common visa interview questions. Common questions can include: why you want to go to the university you chose, what you are going to study, what your career goal is after you graduate, and others similar to these.
(3) Mention about your family
If you have a spouse or children, make sure to talk about them and explain how they will be supported while you are abroad.
(4) Carry all Documents
• Valid Passport, at least six months into the future at the time of entry
• Two photos
• Letter of admission provided by UCSF professional school or Graduate Division
• I-20 Certificate of Eligibility from provided by ISSO at UCSF
• Financial support documents like bank statements, loan approval letters or award letters
• Visa interview fee receipt
• SEVIS fee receipt
• Form DS-160 “non-immigrant visa application” available at US embassy or consulate’s website
• Academic documents such as transcripts, Diploma, schools you attended, mark sheets, your GRE and TOEFL scores

• How will you pay your education and other costs

Be confident, stay calm and smile. Project a positive and confident image, and you are going to have a successful student visa interview.
