Chandigarh, September 4 : With a view to facilitating farmers by providing better connectivity between villages and mandis, the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) will soon undertake construction of 264 new rural link roads with total length of 691 km at a cost of Rs. 265.82 crore.
While stating this here today, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, said that the roads would be constructed in districts Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Jind, Bhiwani, Hisar, Sirsa, Jhajjar, Sonepat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Gurugram, Faridabad, Rewari and Mahendragarh.
Funds for the work to the tune of Rs. 207.65 crore would be sought from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in the form of a soft loan under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund-26 scheme, he added.
