Chandigarh, August 17 – Director, Rural Development Department, Haryana, Mr. Hardeep Singh directed the Chief Executive Officers of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) to get maximum work done under MNREGA in view of COVID-19 so that needy people can get employment.

Mr. Singh was reviewing the work being done under MGNREGA scheme from the Chief Executive Officers of the districts of the state through video conferencing from Chandigarh today. He directed the officers to periodically check the quality of the ongoing works as well as expedite the work. Classifying various works, he said that all concerned officers should update their report immediately after completion of work. While directing to prioritize the work being carried out for more than 6 months, he said that every district should send at least 5-5 success stories of MNREGA works so that other officers too can take inspiration from it.

Director, Rural Development Department, Mr. Hardeep Singh directed all CEOs to ensure timely payment of MNREGA works and said that regular monitoring of ongoing works should be done so that the pressure of work at the end of the financial year can be reduced. He directed to monitor the task of geo-tagging and complete the target of plantation soon.
