Chandigarh, November 4: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala said that Haryana has registered a record 66 percent increase in GST revenue in October 2020 as compared to October 2019 which is a matter of pride for the State Government. While directing the officers of the Excise and Taxation Department to collect maximum revenue for the state, he said to interact with top-level taxpayers so that they continue to pay their taxes on time.
Mr. Chautala said this while presiding over a review meeting of the Haryana Excise and Taxation Department. Principal Secretary, Excise and Taxation Department, Mr. Anurag Rastogi, Commissioner, Excise and Taxation Department, Mr. Shekhar Vidyarthi, Collector, Excise, Mr. Ashutosh Rajan, and Joint Commissioner, Excise and Taxation (GST), Mr. Rajeev Chaudhary were also present during the meeting.
Mr. Chautala said that the total SGST collected during the last year in October 2019 was Rs 1463.49 crore, while this year in October 2020, Rs 3596.01 crore SGST has been collected, which is 66 percent more than the previous year. He directed the concerned officers to identify suspected tax evaders and take action against those found guilty. He appreciated the concerned officers regarding the matter of physical verification of new taxpayers and directed them to complete the remaining work as soon as possible.
