Gujarat Sports Department delegation praised Haryana
Chandigarh, September 11 – Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Sandeep Singh said that the State’s first Sports Injury Rehabilitation Centre is being set up at Tau Devi Lal Sports Stadium, Sector-3, Panchkula. The centre will be ready before the Khelo India Games organized in February, 2022. The establishment of this centre will help the players who get injured during the games to recover quickly.
He said this while presiding over a meeting held today at Tau Devi Lal Sports Stadium with a delegation of Gujarat Sports Department. The delegation of Gujarat is on a visit to Haryana to study the sports infrastructure available to the players in the State as well as training facilities, diet and sports policy etc.
On this occasion, Director of Sports Department, Sh. Pankaj Nain, Former Indian Hockey Captain, Sh. Sardar Singh, Former Indian Volleyball Captain, Sh. Amir Singh and Former Volleyball Coach, Sh. Omprakash were also present.
Four new sports injury rehabilitation centres will be opened in the State
Sh. Sandeep Singh said that four new Sports Injury Rehabilitation Centres will be opened in the State. Injuries are a part of sports but due to injury some players are unable to continue their game and some players even have to go to other countries for the treatment of the injury. With the establishment of this centre, players will be able to recover from injury in the State itself.
200 new coaches will be recruited soon
The Minister of State for Sports said that high level training is being given to the players in the State so that they can bring laurels to the country and the State by performing well in various sports competitions. He informed that at present there are 533 coaches of various sports in the State and 200 new coaches will be recruited soon. Apart from this, about 1000 sports nurseries are being opened across the State to increase the interest in sports among the children.
Along with better infrastructure and sports policy, it is most important to bring the players to the field
While discussing during the meeting held with a delegation from Gujarat, Sh. Sandeep Singh said that along with ensuring better infrastructure and implementing an effective sports policy, it is most important to bring players to the field.
Special efforts have been made by the Haryana Sports Department in this direction, which is showing positive results. He said that the credit for this goes to the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, who is always ready to promote sports and sportspersons. If any proposal for the promotion of sports and sportspersons by the department comes before the Chief Minister, he gives his approval immediately.
Haryana tour will help in developing better sports culture in Gujarat
On this occasion the delegation of Gujarat expressed its gratitude towards the Haryana Government on behalf of the Gujarat Sports Authority. During their Haryana tour, the delegation got detailed information about the sports, training and other facilities being provided to the players from Gurugram to Panchkula. The delegation said that this study will help in developing a better sports culture in Gujarat.
Haryana players have brought laurels to the country in the whole world by winning medals in the Olympics
The delegation praised Haryana and said that the players of the state have brought laurels to the country by winning medals in the Olympics. The delegation further stated that today other States are also learning from Haryana’s performance. The members of the delegation expressed hope that Gujarat would also bring laurels to the country in sports by adopting the best sports practices of Haryana.
