Chandigarh, June 24– Haryana Government has extended the deadline to get Kharif crops insured under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana till July 31, 2021.
Giving information in this regard, a government spokesperson said that this scheme is voluntary for all farmers, so if the indebted farmers do not want to join this scheme, they can withdraw from this scheme by applying in writing to their concerned banks. If the indebted farmer does not intimate their concerned bank for opting out of this scheme, then the bank will be authorized to insure the farmers’ crops. He told that the farmer who does not have any loan can get his crop insured from the customer service centre or the representative of the insurance company as well.
If a farmer changes an already planned crop, he will have to inform the bank for the change of crop before the last date.
