Chandigarh, August 7: – With the arrest of three criminals, Haryana Police have cracked two blind murder incidents and two cases of ransom demand in Kaithal district. Police have also recovered a 12 bore doga gun, 5 cartridges and a bike.
Besides, Police have also busted an inter-district gang of thieves involved in various robberies with the arrest of its six members in district Hansi.
Giving this information here today, a spokesperson of Haryana Police said that a team of CIA during patrolling between Kasan-Jakholi Link road (Kaithal), after getting a tipoff had set up a naka and arrested three suspect youth riding on a motorcycle without number. When searched, police found a 12 bore doga gun and 5 cartridges from their possession and they have been identified as Shubham alias Sukha, Balwinder Singh alias Bitu and Parveen alias Binni.
During the intensive interrogation, accused Praveen alias Binni confessed that he alongwith Shubham, on the evening of July 20, had shot dead Rajbir alias Bittu Rana, a resident of Kalayat when he was returning home from his farm on a bike.
They also confessed that they had killed an electricity department employee on July 27 when he was returning from his official duty.
It was also revealed that Parveen and Shubham had threatened to kill a shopkeeper of Kalayat over a phone call on August 1 for not giving Rs 20 lakh extortion money. The next day, on August 2, both the accused had threatened to kill a Kalayat resident, who was dealing in building material trade.
After committing crime, duo accused used to hide themselves by taking shelter at their aide Balwinder, a resident of village Kalbanu in district Patiala, Punjab.
The trio were roaming around in the Kalayat area with an intention to kill two others, but were nabbed by the CIA team. Half a dozen criminal cases pertaining to attempt to murder, theft, and loot were already registered against Parveen alias Binni.
In another crackdown, Police have busted an inter-district gang of thieves and arrested its six members in Police district Hansi. Four members of the gang used to carry out theft and robbery while two others sell stolen goods in scrap. Police have also recovered 3 bikes, one mobile phone, 2 inverters, 2 batteries, 1 cooler, 1 photostat machine, 5 gas cylinders, 1 brass hukka and other items from their possession.
Three members of the gang identified as Vikas alias Kalia, Mukesh alias Dhola and Pawan were nabbed on August 1 whereas the remaining three identified as Rahul alias Nepali, Vijay and Sonu were apprehended in a planned manner on the basis of interrogation. Rahul is also an accused of stealing vehicle on July 18, who had escaped after leaving the vehicle abandoned on road due to vehicle fuel gone empty.
Cases under relevant provisions of the IPC were registered against the accused and further probe into the matter is underway, he added.
