Chandigarh, July 31
Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Animal Husbandry Minister, Mr. J P Dalal said that the State Government has taken every decision in the interest of farmers’ welfare under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal. He said that more than Rs 30.39 crore has been released for Kharif and Rabi crops which were damaged due to heavy rain and hailstorm during October 2019-20.
Giving detailed information in this regard, Mr. Dalal said that compensation amount of Rs 14,66,40,000 has been released for farmers of Bhiwani district, Rs 7,28,49,000 for Rohtak district, Rs 7,56,18,000 for Mahendragarh district and Rs 88,67,000 has been released for the farmers of Yamunanagar district.
He said that wheat, mustard etc crops were affected due to this heavy loss. Special Girdawari (crop-assessment) of affected crops was conducted by the State Government, on the basis of which this compensation amount has been released. He said that standing crops spread over 6,235 acres were damaged in various villages under Loharu and Tosham sub-divisions of Bhiwani district.
Affected villages include Kasni Kala, Kasni Khurd, Surpura Kala and Surpura Khurd, Sidhanwan, Serla, Gopalwas, Hariyawas and Mandoli Kala villages. Mr. Dalal said that the State Government is committed to the progress and prosperity of the farmers. He said that the State Government has been making efforts to achieve the goal of doubling the income of farmers by 2020 as envisioned by Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. He said that the Pashu Kisan Credit Card Scheme has been started on the lines of Kisan Credit Card.
While showing his concern over locust swarms attack, he said that farmers need not to worry about locust swarms as the officials of various Departments besides Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department have been instructed to take effective measures to control the locusts.
