‘महिला एवं किशोरी सम्मान योजना’ व ‘मुख्यमंत्री दूध उपहार’ योजना की शुरुआत 5 को करेंगे मुख्यमंत्री : कमलेश ढांडा

Chandigarh, August 3- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal will inaugurate the ‘Mahila Avm Kishori Samman Yojana’ for adolescent girls and women living below the poverty line (BPL) on August 5, 2020. In addition, they will also start a scheme to provide fortified flavoured skimmed milk powder under the ‘Mukhya Mantri Doodh Uphar Yojana’ to children between 1 and 6 years of age in Anganwadi Centres and pregnant and lactating mothers under the Integrated Child Development Scheme.

Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs. Kamlesh Dhanda informed that Rs 216 crore has been given for Fortified Flavoured Skimmed Milk Powder under ‘Mukhya Mantri Doodh Uphar Yojana’ and Rs 30.80 crore under ‘Mahila Avm Kishori Samman Yojana’.

She informed that fortified flavoured skimmed milk powder will play an important role in reducing malnutrition. Under this scheme around 200 ml of fragrant skimmed milk will be given per day for six days in a week. This milk will contain other nutritious elements like protein, calcium, magnesium, B-12 as well as vitamins-A and D, which will replenish the micro-nutrients and vitamins in the body. This milk will be in six types of flavours namely chocolate, rose, cardamom, vanilla, plain and butterscotch.

The Minister of Women and Child Development informed that the benefit of this ambitious scheme will reach about 9.03 lakh children and 2.95 lakh pregnant and lactating mothers visiting 25,962 Anganwadi Centres in the state. She informed that sanitary napkins and fortified flavoured skimmed milk powder will be distributed door to door by Anganwadi workers at the village level.

She informed that the state government is committed to the all-round development and empowerment of girls and women. In this series, the ‘Mahila Avm Kishori Samman Yojana’ is being launched by the government for adolescent girls and women living below the poverty line (BPL). Under this scheme, adolescent girls and women between 10 to 45 years of age of about 11,24,871 BPL families will be provided free sanitary napkins. Under this scheme, about 22.50 lakh women and adolescent girls will be given a packet of free sanitary napkins every month for a year, which will contain 6 napkins.

Mrs. Kamlesh Dhanda informed that Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal will inaugurate both these schemes from Chandigarh on August 5 at 11 am. These schemes will be launched by the Deputy Commissioners at the district level and they will participate in the main programme through video conferencing.
