During Congress regime, Maruti had shifted it’s plant to Gujarat, blaming us for this is not ethical, Manohar Lal
Delhi is already getting its legitimate share of water from Haryana: Chief Minister
Chandigarh, July 13: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the Maruti plant is not going anywhere from Haryana and will remain here only.
Responding to the statement given by the Congress about shifting of the Maruti Dezire plant from Manesar to Ahmedabad in Gujarat, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the claim made by Congress holds no merit.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that during the time of Congress, once Maruti had shifted one of its plants to Gujarat. Congress should be ashamed that one plant of Maruti has already shifted to Gujarat during their time, and that is why they are putting wrong blames on our government which is ethically not right, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister, said this while interacting with the media persons after presiding over the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee in Gurugram today.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is holding talks with the officials of Maruti Suzuki India Limited. Maruti has also identified land in Kharkhoda and soon the state government will settle the land issue and this plant will continue to run in Haryana only, added Sh. Manohar Lal.
Sharing details about investment, the Chief Minister said that big companies are investing in Gurugram and other parts of the state. New projects are being started in Haryana. Adequate investment is coming in Gurugram and a provision of reserving 75 percent jobs has been made for people of Haryana.
Responding to another question about the ongoing water dispute between Delhi and Haryana, the Chief Minister said that the Chief Minister of Delhi is fond of doing political publicity stunts. Haryana is giving the same amount of water to Delhi as fixed by the Supreme Court, he added.
Haryana’s requirement of water is no less than Delhi. Mainly, where Haryana has a population of 2.90 crore, Delhi has a population of only 2 crores. In this way, Haryana needs one and a half times more water as compared to Delhi, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
“We get 2000 cusecs of water from Yamuna, out of which we are giving 1050 cusecs of water to Delhi”, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that due to the poor system of water management in Delhi, the people of Delhi are facing water crisis.
Delhi government is making false political statements to hide its failure, he added.
He said that whether it is a matter of oxygen requirement during this Pandemic or pollution, in every case, the Chief Minister of Delhi blames Haryana, while the reality is that all these are problems have been created by them only.
“If the Delhi Chief Minister can’t take care of Delhi, then Haryana can take care of Delhi too,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister reminded how the Delhi government unnecessarily stored oxygen by taking excess oxygen quota during the second wave of COVID-19.
He said that more COVID-19 cases were reported in Haryana and even the patients from Delhi were also coming to Haryana to get treatment.
He said that in Haryana, where 282 metric tonnes of oxygen was supplied to a population of 2.90 crore, the Delhi government through Supreme Court had got themselves a supply of 700 metric tonnes for its population of only 2 crore.
“Despite getting less oxygen, Haryana managed to deliver oxygen to the needy due to it’s efficient management,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
Two separate plans to be chalked out for the Industrial and Residential area in Daulatabad
The Chief Minister Manohar Lal directed the Town and Country Planning Department to identify industrial areas and residential areas separately in the development plan of Daulatabad Road Industrial Area and with this direction it is expected that the present problem if this area would be resolved soon.
The Chief Minister informed that the problem of Daulatabad Road Industrial Area was tabled in today’s meeting in which it was decided that a compact area which has 90 percent industrial units and all of them are non polluting units, for them Town and Country Planning Department would divide both the areas in the development plan for making separate plans for both industrial and residential areas.
After the separation of the industrial area in the development plan, the industrial building plan will also be approved in that area. After this decision of the Chief Minister, the industry engaged in Daulatabad Road Industrial Area is expected to get a big relief.
