Chief Minister Chouhan garlands on the picture of Sant Singaji

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sant Singaji Maharaj, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan garlanded his portrait at his residence today. Singaji was born in a village Khajuri district, Barwani, Madhya Pradesh. Singaji is considered to be of 16th or 17th century period. It is said that Singaji was a poet and a saint.
Singaji’s camps and mausoleums have been built at many places throughout Madhya Pradesh, where fairs are also organized. The spiritual songs of poet-saint Singaji are sung even today. Mundi, a thermal power plant constructed in the Khandwa district, is also named after Sant Singaji.
