current Vidhan Sabha session has been adjourned indefinitely due to Covid-19 situation

Chandigarh, August 26: Haryana Deputy Speaker Mr. Ranbir Gangwa said that the current Vidhan Sabha session has been adjourned indefinitely due to Covid-19 situation.  He clarified that this Vidhan Sabha Session will continue as soon as the situation arisen due to Corona pandemic improves. Further proceedings of upcoming session will be held with the permission of Vidhan Sabha Speaker, he added.

He informed this while interacting with the media persons at Haryana Niwas today after the Vidhan Sabha Session concluded. He said that the Monsoon Session was held today as it is necessary to call the Vidhan Sabha Session within 6 months of the previous session.

While addressing the queries of media persons, he said that all the guidelines related to COVID-19, including social distancing in the Vidhan Sabha have been followed during the one day Session. Since a large number of staff and security personnel of Vidhan Sabha have been deployed in the Session, therefore to contain the spread of COVID-19, the proceedings of the session have been adjourned for the time being.

Mr. Gangwa informed that in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha held at 11 am today, it was decided with the consent of all the members of the committee along with the Leader of Opposition, who is also a member of this committee, that the proceedings of Session should be commenced as per the rules of Vidhan Sabha so as to complete the legislative work including the passing of necessary bills and other works on time, he added.

He said that today 12 bills have been passed during the proceedings of Vidhan Sabha Session and one bill will be discussed in the next phase of this session. He said that while passing the bills, all members were given the opportunity to share their views on any bill. He said that out of these bills passed in the House, 10 ordinances have already been passed by the Government.
