Chandigarh, July 2– With the State of Haryana recording the highest power consumption and maximum power load on July 1, 2021 since the formation of the State, Haryana Power Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh said that this day is a historic day for the state in the power sector as this requirement has been met by the power utilities of the State.
The Power Minister informed that for the first time since the formation of Haryana, power consumption of 2576.88 LU (Lakh Unit) has been recorded in the state, while a load of 11732 MW has been registered. With this, the demand for electricity in Gurugram has increased by 34% this year as compared to last year. He said that last year the maximum demand in Gurugram was 1147 MW, which has been recorded as 1534 MW yesterday. He said that there is no power breakdown in Haryana and power is being supplied to the people as per the stipulated time without any interruption.
He said that due to lack of adequate power in Punjab, power breakdown is being imposed in the industrial sector and following the power shortage, the timings of Government Offices in Punjab have been rescheduled from 8 am to 2 pm. Whereas in Haryana there is no such crisis as the State Government had already made advanced preparations to manage such a situation.
Sh. Ranjit Singh said that an advisory has been issued to all field officers to be alert during the paddy season and ensure uninterrupted power supply to the public and farmers. Along with this, instructions have also been given to the officials to remain present on the transmission and distribution system so as to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the public. A strict action would be initiated if any complaint is received.
He said that the officers and employees of the Electricity Department deserve praise for completing their assigned tasks with great diligence.
