Chandigarh, July 7- Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the Public Works (Building and Roads) Department will not compromise on the quality of construction work of buildings, roads, hospitals, playgrounds or other projects in the State at any cost. It will not be tolerated if any construction agency or official shows laxity. He directed to honour the agencies working before the stipulated time and to impose fine on those who completed the work late.
The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, reviewed about three dozen ongoing projects worth more than Rs. 50 crore under the Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Department here today. Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Department, Sh. Alok Nigam, other senior officers and representatives of construction agencies were present during the meeting.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the State Government is accountable to the people and is building roads, hospitals and other public utility projects for the convenience of the people of the State. He reviewed 34 projects under construction under Public Works (Building and Roads) Department.
Sh. Dushyant Chautala, while reviewing the progress report of the construction work of the Government Medical College in Koriawas village of Mahendragarh district, said that under the new rules of the Medical Education and Research Department, it must be completed in the next one year by finalizing the architectural-drawing as soon as possible. While directing to expedite the development work of the existing run-way and taxi-way of Hisar International Airport, he said that the process of widening it and other pending works should be completed by May 4, 2022.
He reviewed in detail the work of the war memorial being built in Ambala in memory of the martyrs of India’s first freedom struggle. For this, direction’s have been given to complete the under-construction museum, open air theatre, auditorium, memorial tower by March 2022. He also took feedback from the officials about the work of upgrading the civil hospital from 100 beds to 200 beds in Ambala Cantt. Similarly, he directed to complete the work of synthetic track and artificial football turf of the stadium as part of the upgradation here and said that it will be completed before November 2021 and handed over to the Sports Department so that Khelo-India Games can be held here. He also reviewed the construction work of upgrading the civil hospital of Ambala city from 200 beds to 300 beds and the administrative section of Phase-3 in the mini secretariat.
The Deputy Chief Minister took stock of the work done till now for the ‘Key Plan’ of ‘Tower of Justice’ (New Judicial Complex) being built in Gurugram and directed to finalize it by June 2022. He directed the officers to expedite the work by giving approval for escalators and additional parking at the earliest. He also asked the officials about the construction of the office building of the Excise and Taxation Department.
Expressing displeasure over the slow pace in the construction of the new jail building in Rewari, Sh. Dushyant Chautala reprimanded the officials of the agency and the department and directed to complete the work by October 31, 2021.
As a result of reviewing the work of ‘Dr. B R Ambedkar National Law University’ from time to time, the construction agency promised to complete the said work by the stipulated period during today’s meeting.
Similarly, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the upgradation of Mukand Lal Civil Hospital in Yamunanagar having a capacity of 200 beds, the construction of ‘Haryana State Archaeological Museum’ in Panchkula, the building of the NCC Academy at Gharaunda, Karnal, the construction of houses for teachers at PGI Rohtak. He directed to complete the construction of the Government Medical College, Jind by July, 2023 as well.
Sh. Dushyant Chautala also reviewed the ongoing works of roads, overbridges, underbridges etc. being constructed in the state under Public Works (Building and Roads) Department. In Karnal district, he directed the construction agency to complete the four-laning of Karnal-Meerut road at some places, six-laning at some places and construction of some overbridges by January 1, 2022. He asked to complete the construction work of 630 meter length Yamuna-Bridge on the proposed Faridabad-Greater Noida road by the end of this year.
While directing to expedite the construction of Bhiwani-bypass to four-laning the road from Bhiwani to Kharak village and connecting Rohtak road with Charkhi Dadri road, the Deputy Chief Minister said that bridges should be constructed over the railway lines falling on the way. The formalities related to this, should be completed at the earliest by meeting the railway officials.
The Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed the construction of four-lane Pinjore bypass and widening of the road from Samalkha to Attala, construction of H-L bridge over Yamuna river near village Khojkipur, four-lane railway overbridge at village Pali in Rewari district.
While directing to expedite the construction of railway overbridge from Jindal Chowk to Surya Nagar on Rewari-Bhatinda railway line in Hisar, he said that the remaining power lines from that area should be removed at the earliest in consultation with the Power Department. He directed to complete the work of construction of two-lane elevated railway overbridge on Kachha Beri road in Rohtak city, construction of four-lane railway overbridge on Delhi-Rewari line in Gurugram, four-lane railway overbridge on Delhi-Ambala railway line in Karnal, construction of link road from Rewari-Narnaul road to Rewari-Jhajjar road in Rewari district, upgradation of Sonepat-Rathdhana – Narela road, construction of flyover and underpass on Old Delhi-Jaipur road in Gurugram, HL bridge over Yamuna river near village Jathlana, flyover at Sheela bypass chowk in Rohtak, six-laning of road from Gita Dwar in Kurukshetra to third gate of Kurukshetra University and six-laning of road from the logistics hub of Nangal Choudhary, within the stipulated period.
