Chandigarh, June 16- Haryana Government today took another special initiative towards the goal of ‘Aatmanirbhar Haryana’ campaign when the Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala, launched a special scheme in which the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Company) companies products will be provided through depot-holders under reasonable Price selling scheme.
This pilot project has been launched in Sirsa, Fatehabad, Karnal, Yamunanagar, and Panchkula districts. If the trial of this pilot project becomes successful in these districts, then it will be implemented across the State. Through the medium of depot-holders, villagers of the State will also be able to take advantage of certain services of SBI Bank in a hassle free manner.
The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, launched three projects of CONFED here today. This was a historic step taken in the interest of the people of rural areas of Haryana.
While CONFED Managing Director, Sh. R S Dhillon and Deputy Chief Minister’s OSD, Sh. Kamlesh Bhadoo were present on the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Sh. Anurag Rastogi and Dabur India Limited, Representatives from Hindustan Unilever Limited, Marico Limited, The Coca-Cola Company, Alpro Consumer Products Private Limited, SBI and other major MNCs representatives attended the meeting through video conferencing.
Sh. Dushyant Chautala informed that the main objective of the state government is to create an eco-system within Haryana through CONFED, in which multinational FMCG companies, self-help groups and other groups work amicably.
He said that the essential commodities certified by the manufacturing companies are to be sold at reasonable rates. While this scheme of the government will generate income and employment opportunities in the state, the markets in rural areas will also be strengthened by this initiative, he added.
He said that at present a pilot project is being started for eight weeks in five districts of the state namely Yamunanagar, Sirsa, Karnal, Fatehabad and Panchkula, in which Dabur India Limited, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Marico Limited, Coca-Cola Company, Alpro Consumer Products Pvt Ltd will sell the products. This will increase the revenue of FPS owners. 140 FPS from the above mentioned districts are part of the pilot project.
The Deputy Chief Minister informed that CONFED in collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI) will set up a Customer Service Point (CSP) in the FPS itself which will help in expanding the financial services operated by the bank. Selected FPS owners will be able to act as SBI Retailers. These FPS owners will provide basic banking services to the customers in rural areas in return for which they will get commission. Under this project, a pilot project was started today in two districts of Sirsa and Karnal.
The Deputy Chief Minister also launched a new online mobile application named C-SMRT (Confed-Surveillance, Monitoring, Real-time). This app will help in maintaining and tracking the logistics related to public distribution in stipulated time. He added that this will even help in ensuring transparency and smooth functioning of PDS related items. He said that while these three projects would bring financial benefits to the depot holders, the general public would also be largely benefitted.
He said that during the pilot project, there would be a weekly review of the benefits accruing to the CONFED stakeholders and customers, if these projects are favorable in the interest of all then the same scheme would be implemented across Haryana.
