Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Sandeep Singh said that players have finally started getting the benefits of the announcements made by the government for the award-winning sportspersons

Chandigarh, July 3: Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Sandeep Singh said that players have finally started getting the benefits of the announcements made by the government for the award-winning sportspersons. As per the announcements, the increased amount for the awardees has also been deposited in the accounts of the players, he added.

While interacting with the people today, Sh. Sandeep Singh said that on the occasion of Good Governance Day, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal had announced to increase the monthly honorarium of Arjuna, Dronacharya, Bheem and Dhyan Chand awardees.

According to which 104 awardees in the state were to be given an amount of Rs.20,000  and 130 awardees were

to be given Rs.  5,000 per month.  The process of depositing the said amount has been initiated, he said.

Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, Sh. Sandeep Singh said that the awardees of Arjuna, Dronacharya and Dhyan Chand awards have now been given Rs 20,000 each month instead of Rs 5,000.  Likewise, the winners of the Tenzing Norgay Adventure Award given by the Central Government have also been given a courage award of Rs. 20,000.

He said that the Chief Minister has also enhanced the honorarium of the Bhim Awardees.  Earlier these players were given an amount of Rs. 5 lakh only at the time of award, but now a monthly Bhim honorarium of Rs. 5000 is given to these players.

The Minister of State for Sports said that 80 players have received the Arjuna Award in the state.  Whereas 15  trainers/coaches have received the honour of the Dronacharya Award.

Similarly, nine sportspersons have been honoured with Dhyan Chand Award.  Three players of the state have got adventure awards.

The special thing is that 130 players have  been honoured with Bhim Award in the state, who have received this monthly bonanza by the  state government.
