Former Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Vishnu Bhagwan passed away today

Chandigarh, May 13: Former Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Vishnu Bhagwan passed away today.  He was suffering from corona for the last few days and was undergoing treatment at Max Hospital in Gurugram.  He breathed his last at 12.19 pm today.  He is survived by a full family including wife Smt. Asha Mishra, son Sh. Aalind Jindal.  He was around 80 years old. Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal along with many senior officers including Chief Secretary, Sh. Vijai Vardhan, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. DS Dhesi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V Umashankar, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Agrawal expressed their heartfelt condolences.

In addition to the post of Chief Secretary, Late Sh. Vishnu Bhagwan held important positions in Excise & Taxation, Irrigation, Human Resource Development, Public Relations, Social Justice & Empowerment, Electricity, Labour & Employment, Education Department and Animal Husbandry Departments.  He also served as Managing Director of Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited, Deputy Commissioner of Sonepat District, Chairman of Haryana Public Enterprises Bureau and the Vice Chancellor of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar.

Late Sh. Vishnu Bhagwan was born on 7 December 1940.  He was a 1965 batch IAS officer.  He took charge on 5 July 1965 and retired from the post of Chief Secretary, Government of Haryana on 31 December 2000.  He was currently living in Delhi with his family.
