Chandigarh, October 31: Haryana Sahitya Academy has decided to implement various new schemes on the occasion of Haryana Day.
Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson of the academy said that in the month of November, the academy has pledged to install the statues of saint poet Surdas, renowned journalist Babu Balmukund Gupta and folk poet and Saang Samraat Pandit Lakhmi Chand.
He said that in the second phase of the statue-unveiling, it is proposed to install statues of Suryakant Tripathi ‘Nirala’, Rashtraya poet, Ramdhari Singh Dinkar and Mahadevi Verma in the current financial year.
The Academy has also decided that all the Kriti Puraskar and Sahityaar Puraskar pending for the last several years will be conferred in the current financial year. Apart from these, the academy has also formulated plans to release e-editions of popular works. The Academy has pledged to promote Hindi literature as well as Haryanvi equally.
