Chandigarh, May 04 – Due to a technical glitch in the billing software of Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, during the period from April 16, 2021 to April 26, 2021, spot bills of nearly 1.40 lakh consumers were issued with incorrect dues. In many cities, the consumers got wrong dues bill despite clearing the previous bills due to this error, although the above bills have been made exactly correct in the billing system and the consumers who pay bills online or at the department counter, the bill amount will reflect that there is no outstanding error in the balance.
Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson from Bijli Nigam said that in view of the inconvenience caused to consumers due to this error, new bills have been issued by the Bijli Nigam by extending the date of depositing the electricity bill of the affected consumers.
