…Captain-Modi bonhomie a public secret now: Harpal Singh Cheema

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab senior leader and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema, reacting to the issue of summoning of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s son Raninder Singh by the Central Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a corruption case under the FEMA Act. Harpal Singh Cheema on Saturday said that Punjab CM Amarinder Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were trying to befool the people of Punjab and the country on the issue as serious as the one on hand involving Raninder Singh, which was reflective of mutual bonhomie between the Amarinder Singh and Modi.
In a press statement issued here on Saturday, Harpal Singh Cheema said that during the previous (2004-2007) tenure of the Amarinder Singh government, Raninder Singh had allegedly involved in depositing huge black money in Swiss banks, besides involving in illegal transactions with the Jacaranda Trust Island, adding that the ED had an ample clinching evidence in the case.
Cheema said the ED had been investigating the case of alleged involvement under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) for the last four years, saying despite the high-end corruption he (Raninder Singh) was involved in, which was why it could not reach the conclusive end, due to the blessings of the Narendra Modi government on the royal family. He said that had probe been tame-barred and impartial into the hawala money stashed in the foreign banks, Raninder Singh would have been behind the bars by now.
Cheema said that due to the rampant corruption on the part of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and members of the royal family, foreign bank accounts, foreign hospitality and the undying desire to stay relevant in the power corridor, Amarinder Singh had been dancing to the tunes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who chose to ignore the corruption of the royal family.
