Under Corona Mukat Punjab, the State Government has launched Mission Fateh 02, under which Rural Corona Warrior Groups of youth would be formed at village level, which would not only increase corona testing but also ensure 100 per cent vaccination in the villages. To encourage the groups, the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh also announced sports kits for these groups.
This was disclosed by the Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sh. Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu joined the program organized by the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh to interact with the youth of Punjab through video conferencing from the District Administrative Complex, SAS Nagar.
On this occasion, Mr. Sidhu said that under Mission Fateh-02 more than 01 lakh samples have been taken and 01.04 crore people have been screened so far and special health care is being provided to 220 Corona positive women. In addition, 2380 health and wellness centers in the villages are playing a special role in the fight against corona and door-to-door testing is being conducted by ASHA workers.
Mr. Sidhu said that Punjab government was working day and night to address the shortcomings of Covid vaccination. The Health Minister said that strict action has been taken against those private hospitals who were overcharging for the treatment of the people.
He said that the State government was also taking the help of NGOs, volunteers and private organizations to strengthen the fight against Covid. Help was being offered by various social workers and companies. Under this, Mahindra & Mahindra has offered to pay for 10,000 vaccine doses.
Mr. Sidhu said that when the youth would visit villages and explain the importance of testing and vaccination to the people, victory over the corona is guaranteed.
Talking to the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh on the occasion, Nirbhajot Kaur, a student of Government College Phase-06 lauded the efforts being made by the Punjab government to defeat Covid and said that she was a member of NCC. He is working with other students to motivate people to undergo maximum corona testing and vaccination through various means. She will continue this work till the target of 100 per cent vaccination is achieved under Mission Fateh-2.
On this occasion, Mr. Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhli Kalan, Political Secretary to Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu and Chairman Market Committee Kharar, Mr. Deepinder Singh Dhillon, President District Congress Committee, Mr. Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu’s son and District Youth Congress President Mr. Kanwarveer Singh Sidhu, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mr. Rajiv Gupta, Assistant Director Youth Services S.A.S. Nagar Mrs. Rupinder Kaur along with officers and youth of various departments were present.
