Technical expert continues to work hard to make BBMB workshop oxygen plant operational: Member Parliament Manish Tewari

The most basic need for treatment of the patients infected during the Covid epidemic would be to ensure that there is no shortage of oxygen in Rupnagar district and for this the district administration and health department officials are continuously ensuring availability of oxygen in the district.Efforts are being made day and night by BBMB officials, technicians and the Indian Army to start oxygen production at the BBMB workshop by activating the oxygen plant which has been shut down for more than a decade.
This was stated by the Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Mr. Rana Kanwarpal Singh while interacting with the media persons after inspecting the oxygen plant under repair at BBMB Workshop Nangal today. He was accompanied by Member of Parliament Manish Tewari. Given the seriousness of the situation today, the two leaders said that the success of the efforts made by the technical experts day and night for the restoration of the oxygen plant, which has been shut down for more than a decade, has been hampered.
The Speaker said that in view of the seriousness of the situation ,shortage of oxygen for Covid patients, we had directed the district administration to open up the BBMB workshop which have been closed for more than a decade and old oxygen plants which have been closed for almost seven decades. Today, our efforts are likely to be thwarted. We are only one step away from starting the production of this oxygen plant. Praising and thanking the Indian Army officials, technical experts and former BBMB executives who started the plant a decade ago, Rana KP Singh said, “We are very close to commissioning the oxygen plant.” Yes Production is expected to start soon. “Our experts are working on it day and night,” he said.
He said that the district has adequate facilities of health facilities, isolation centers, beds for patients, medical staff, volunteer staff. We are fully alert to control the epidemic.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Manish Tewari, Member Parliament said that after the initiative of Speaker Rana KP Singh, he had asked Union Minister R.K. By. Singh. BBMB officials, the Indian Army and technical experts are constantly working day and night to run it. He said that apart from the production of oxygen from this plant, other oxygen plants would also be set up in Rupnagar district, which would meet the demand of oxygen in the district.He said that today he accompanied the Speaker Vidhan Sabha Rana KP Singh to visit the workshop and take stock of the ongoing machinery repair work. Special thanks to the team of technical experts for their tireless efforts day and night. It is hoped that oxygen production will begin soon. He said that Punjab government is working very seriously for the health and safety of the people.
