KARGIL, OCTOBER 27, 2021: 10 days training on mushroom cultivation organized by Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Kargil concluded at Chiktan here today.
Executive Councilor for Health Mohsin Ali, Chairperson Block Development Council (BDC) Shakar Chiktan Syeeda Banoo, Lead Bank District Manager Kargil Tsering Wangmo, Director Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Muhammad Shafi Kutto, Manager State Bank of India Mushtaq Ahmad Malik, Scientist Dr Nasreen Fatima, Sarpanch Chiktan Liyaqat Ali Khan besides the trainers and participants were present on the occasion.
EC Mohsin Ali in his address extended gratitude to the RSETI Kargil for conduct of this fruitful training programme on mushroom cultivation and expressed optimism that the step will prove beneficial to the local farmers. He stressed on farmers to adopt mushroom cultivation to enhance their economy.
The EC said that after Ladakh became UT, beneficiaries are getting more benefits through different schemes to uplift their income source. He also stressed on the beneficiaries to take full benefit of loans provided by the banks through different schemes.
Scientist Dr Nasreen Fatima said that mushroom cultivation is rich in Ladakh and explained the importance of mushroom cultivation. She stressed on the participants to continue to cultivate mushroom after training.

Director Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Kargil Muhammad Shafi Khutto said that RSETI Kargil was established in the year 2020, and the institute has so far conducted more than 10 training programmes on different schemes in several villages in Kargil District. He also said that 75% of the trained persons have settled their businesses through loans provided by the banks and assured to conduct more such training programmes in future.
General Manager SBI, Kargil Mushtaq Ahmad Malik said that bank is committed to provide loans to beneficiaries.
District Manager Lead Bank Kargil Tsering Wangmo spoke about different government sponsored schemes through which loans are provided by banks to the unemployed people to start their business.
BDC Chairperson Shakar Chiktan Syeeda Banoo presented the welcome address while Muhammad Kazim conducted the proceedings of the event.
Later, the EC and other dignitaries distributed certificates among the participants.
