10,78,864 candidates will appear for CET in 1200 examination centres set up in 17 districts, including one in Chandigarh, HSSC Chairman

In cases, where the candidates have downloaded their admit cards multiple times with different exam centres will be given permission to appear in the nearest centre, Bhopal Singh

Chandigarh, November 3 –Haryana Staff Selection Commission, Chairman, Sh. Bhopal Singh said that 11,36,894 lakh candidates had registered for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) to be held on November 5 and 6. He further informed that during the scrutiny of forms, duplicity and incomplete forms have been found. After this entire process, now the final number of candidates appearing for the exam is 10,78,864 lakh and it is expected that all these candidates will appear for the exam, added Sh. Bhopal Singh while addressing a press conference held here today.

He further said that the examination will be held in 658 institutions/buildings. Around 1200 examination centres have been set up in 17 districts of the state including one in Chandigarh. In cases, where the candidates have downloaded their admit cards multiple times with different exam centres will be given permission to appear in the nearest examination centre, informed Bhopal Singh.

He further clarified that the reason for this technical glitch of duplicity in downloading the admit cards had been registered through an Aadhaar card or any other identity document or PPP at the time of registration. Thus, a person is considered to have filled out more than one form. There was no system in the database to track the registration done by the same person through one ID and prevent registration done more than once, said Sh. Bhopal Singh.

He further said that so far 70 candidates have been found who have got more than one admit card. Helpline number 18005728997 has been issued for the convenience of such candidates. On this helpline number, such candidates can give information about their issues. In this situation, the candidate will be allowed to take the examination in the nearest examination centre by the Commission. The rest of the admit cards will be cancelled, said Sh. Bhopal Singh.

He said that such cases will be thoroughly investigated because many times it has been found that some candidates give false information even to err in the examination by increasing the chances of dummy candidates appearing for the examination with duplicate admit cards.

All such activities will be investigated and if it is found that someone has done such an act to deliberately mislead, then they will be debarred from the examinations of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission, said Sh. Bhopal Singh.

Clarifying the situation about social media reports of allocation examination centre 150 km away for the Persons with Disability candidates, Sh. Bhopal Singh said that at the time of registration, the candidate had uploaded their PwD certificate, but they were required to tick the same column in the original form as well, which they had forgotten to do and for this reason, considering such candidates as normal candidates software had allocated their examination centres in far districts. This time the Commission tried that the examination centres of the candidates should not be more than a 100 km radius, added Sh. Bhopal Singh.

Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister, Sh. Bhopal Singh said that this time the historic decision taken by the government to successfully conduct such a huge examination and to provide free travel facilities to the candidates in Haryana transport buses is commendable.

He informed that on November 5 and 6, the examination will be held in two shifts. The timing of the morning exam will be from 10 am to 11:45 Pm. The reporting time for this shift will be 8:30 Am. Similarly, the evening shift timings will be from 3 Pm to 4:45 Pm. The reporting time for this shift will be 1:30 Pm.

For this examination, the transport department will arrange travelling facilities for the candidates from the nearest sub-divisional bus stand or nearest district-level bus stand to the nearest sub-divisional bus stand or district-level bus stand of the examination centre.
