Payments worth Rs.25393 crore made
1079962 farmers benefit from MSP
Chandigarh, November 16:
The Government agencies and private millers have procured 15684109.61 metric tonnes of paddy in Punjab till November 15 while payment worth Rs. 25393.20 crore has been transferred to the accounts of arthias/farmers by the government, rendering MSP benefits to 1079962 farmers.
Disclosing this, an official spokesman of the government of Punjab informed that out of the total purchase from various procurement centres in the State, the government agencies procured 15578881.61 MT of paddy while 105228 MT has been procured by the millers.
PUNGRAIN has procured 6468572.83 tonnes, MARKFED 3983493 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 3181001.81 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation procured 1735068.97 MT paddy. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 210745 MT paddy.
As per the 72 hours norm, 100% lifting has been accomplished across the state, he informed.
