22 officials in Haryana caught for bribery in July
Chandigarh, Sept 4 – Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught 14 government officials and 8 private individuals red-handed while accepting bribes during the month of July 2022.
Sharing the information here today, a spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau informed that the above officials were nabbed accepting bribes from Rs 4,000 to Rs 65,000.
In addition, cases against 48 government officials including 15 Class-I officers, 10 Class-II officers, 23 Class-III employees and 12 private individuals have been registered on the basis of complaints/enquiries under the Prevention of Corruption Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
In one enquiry conducted during the same period, the Bureau recommended the registration of a criminal case along with departmental action against one non-gazetted official. Similarly, it has recommended departmental action against one gazetted officer and three non-gazetted officials in two enquiries. In addition, registration of criminal case against one non-gazetted official was recommended in one enquiry.
Among the arrested in month of the July, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Narwana Jind was caught red-handed accepting bribe of Rs 40,000 while Junior Engineer of HSVP Panipat was nabbed taking Rs 50,000.
Similarly, Superintendent of the Deputy Commissioner office, Sonipat was arrested for taking Rs 20,000, and Lineman/Clerk of UHBVN Murthal Sonipat was apprehended taking bribe worth Rs 50,000, ASI of Police Station Farukhnagar and a private individual were caught receiving Rs 20,000, Incharge Haryana Khadi Gram Udhyog Board Panipat and a Computer Operator were arrested taking Rs 20,000, Head Constable of Police Post Gwal Pahari in Gurugram arrested taking Rs 10,000, Incharge Police Post Sec-16 Faridabad and a private person arrested taking Rs 10,000. Apart from this, a Pollution Control Board official posted in Bhiwani and a private individual were arrested taking Rs 10,000 bribe.
A Patwari posted in Nuh district along with a private individual was arrested taking Rs 9,000, Patwari in Jind district nabbed for taking Rs 8000, E/SI posted at Police Station City Mahendergarh arrested taking RS 7000 and Sub-Inspector posted in Police Station Jatusana arrested taking Rs 4000. Similarly, private individuals taking Rs 10000 bribe caught in Palwal district, with Rs 4500 in Ambala district, receiving bribe of Rs 65,000 in Bhiwani district and taking Rs 14,000 in Faridabad district.
