32nd National Road safety Month: MVD Ladakh felicitate doctors as Road Safety Champions 

KARGIL JANUARY 22, 2021: As a part of the various activities underway in the district in connection with the 32nd National Road safety Month, Motor Vehicle Department (MVD), Ladakh and Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO),  Kargil organized a function ‘Thank You Doctors’ to pay gratitude and honor doctors as Road Safety Champions.

Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kargil Tsering Motup, Tehsildar Kargil Muhammad Salim Wazir, District Traffic Inspector (DTI) Kargil Nissar Ali and doctors were present on the occasion.

The chief guest EC Health Muhammad Ali Chandan while speaking on the occasion highlighted the role of doctors in society in saving, and improving peoples’ lives and controlling epidemics.

EC Chandan said that doctors as road safety champions play a key role in extending emergency services to persons injured during accidents and fatalities and act as saviors for people in trouble.

The EC counted the tremendous contribution of doctors during the COVID-19 pandemic situation and said that the morale of the doctors should be boosted by organizing such programmes.

Other speakers including the ADC, Kargil, ARTO and DTI also appreciated the efforts and endeavors of the doctors’ fraternity in saving the life of accident victims in emergency situations.

The speakers said that after every road accident, there is a doctor in scene and when the accident victims are rushed to the hospital, the doctors are always available to attend such victims without caring the legalities, like admit card, FIR and other investigation and thus play a key role in saving precious lives .

The ‘Thank You Party’ concluded with lunch.
