Out of 2 lakh metric tonnes of urea allocated by the central government for the month of January, 1,24,070 metric tonnes have been received
Chandigarh, January 19 – Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. JP Dalal said that the contribution of the state in the central pool remains constant, for this, the central and state governments are providing various facilities to the farmers from time to time through various schemes. Due to the advance arrangements made by the department for the availability of agricultural inputs such as fertilizers, quality seeds, weeds and pesticides even before the start of Rabi and Kharif sowing season, the yield has been about 6 percent more than the target of crop production in the state as compared to previous years.
Giving detailed information in this regard, Sh. JP Dalal said that mustard has been sown in about 10 lakh acres of land and wheat on about 62 lakh acres during the current Rabi season. The priority of the government is that the crop of the farmer should be ready at the right time and the production of food grains should increase. The availability of fertilizers and manure is ensured by the Central Government to all the states as per their demand. He informed that 8.65 lakh metric tonnes of urea has been sold in the state till January 17, 2022, whereas during the same period last year, 8.42 lakh metric tonnes of urea was sold.
He informed that as of today 36,987 metric tonnes of urea is available in stock in the state. He said that for the month of January, the Central Government has allocated 2 lakh metric tonnes of urea for Haryana, out of which 1,24,070 metric tonnes have been received.
The Agriculture Minister said that it is the grace of God that due to periodic rains, the farmers’ expenditure on irrigation of Rabi crops has also been saved and it is expected that this time again there will be record production of Rabi crops. He informed that the yield of crops was 18,420 kg per hectare in the year 2019-20, which has increased to 19,622 kg per hectare in the year 2020-21.
