Final planning will be done after taking suggestions from world class players
Chandigarh, May 18 – The Third Round Table Conference to Develop a Global City was organized in Gurugram on Wednesday.The Conference was presided over by Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal. Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala, industry leaders and big developers from the real estate sector also participated in the meeting.
While interacting with the mediapersons after the meeting, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that there is a plan to develop a world class iconic global city in Gurugram. All types of world class facilities will be available here. The planning of this city will be done on the basis of suggestions received according to the demands of the people instead of the pre-decided norms of urban development. It will involve world class planners and topmost designers. This global city will be given a world class look by involving international level players.
While responding to a query, the Chief Minister said that to develop this global city with world class amenities, top players from across the world and India will be involved. International designers will also be consulted. Another such meeting will be organised in Dubai also as there are developers who are actively involved in developing such a futuristic city present there.
Responding to another query, the Chief Minister said that so far three Round Table Conferences have been organized in this regard, where good suggestions have come up. After receiving the suggestions from all the players, an internal meeting will be held and an outline of the plan will be made. He said that when the planning is good, investors will also be attracted. He said that the Global City Mix Land Use Township will be a ‘City in a City’ with inspiring workspace and bespoke city centric living facility. This global city has been envisioned to harness the potential of Gurugram as a hub for the service industry. This project will be in the form of Central Business District (CBD) of the National Capital Region where everything required for a healthy work environment, health, education etc. will be available.
It is worth mentioning that the state government has a plan to develop Gurugram into a Global City with a nurturing business environment, world class infrastructure and high standard of living. It will be groomed into a city which is a role model for township development in India and emerges as a driving force for Haryana’s economy. It will be developed over 1000 acres of land with office space, residential towers, hospitals, hotels, exhibition and convention centres etc. to create a vibrant live-work-relax eco-system.
Apart from the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D.S. Dhesi, Principal Secretary, Sh. V Umashankar, Principal Secretary Industries Department, Sh. Vijayender Kumar, HSIIDC Managing Director, Sh. Vikas Gupta, Chief Coordinator Sunil Sharma, Police Commissioner Kala Ramachandran, Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav attended the meeting. Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, Anu Sheokhand and many other dignitaries were also present.
