Panipat, April 24– While remembering the supreme sacrifices made by Hind Ki Chadar Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal made several big announcements at a state-level function held to celebrate the 400th Prakash Purab held at Panipat today.
The ground where this state-level function was held will be named after Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, announced Sh. Manohar Lal. Besides this, the path via which the palanquin carrying Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji has also been named as Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Marg, announced the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister further announced that the Government Medical College, which will soon be built in Yamunanagar, has also been named after Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The foundation stone of the college will be laid soon.
“As an exhibition of the weapons used by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji while fighting would be held across the country, hence we have also decided that the State Government will also donate vehicle to safely carry these rare relics of Guru Ji,” announced Sh. Manohar Lal.
Before addressing the lakhs of Sangat who had reached to attend the function, the Chief Minister firstly went to the main ‘Pandal’ and paid obeisance to Sri Guru Granth Sahib. After this, he greeted the Sangat with folded hands.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Manohar Lal said that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji had made a supreme sacrifice while raising his voice against religious atrocities and injustice.
“Today we are celebrating the 400th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji as a part of ongoing celebrations of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The main purpose of organizing such a grand Samagam is to ensure that the inspiring stories of the supreme sacrifices made by Hind Ki Chadar Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji should reach every sphere of the country and our future generations can take inspiration from Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji sacrificed himself for religious freedom and humanity
The Chief Minister said that the Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji sacrificed himself for religious freedom and humanity. History tells that how a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits went to meet Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to save them from forced conversion. Then, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji had said that this would need a great sacrifice, it was when Guru Sahib’s son Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji had said who will be worthier than you to make such a sacrifice. After this Guru Sahib Ji challenged Aurangzeb and after giving severe torture to Guru Ji, Aurangzeb beheaded his head and Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji made supreme sacrifice of his life for religious freedom, added Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that the paying obeisance to the supreme scarifies of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, two days ago, too had celebrated the 400th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
We should remember the heroes of the country, not the villains
Calling the tyrannical ruler Aurangzeb a villain, the Chief Minister said that everyone should remember the heroes of the country not the villains. Similarly, in Treta Yuga, Ravana was a villain and Lord Ram was the hero. These great men never compromised for the protection of religion and culture. The teaching of Gurus and Great Men have always preached the society to follow this path, he added.
Haryana shares a special bond with Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
The Chief Minister said that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji always shared a special bond with Haryana as during his lifetime he had travelled six times through Haryana and Punjab. Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji visited 32 Gurdwaras of Haryana. He also visited places like Dhamtan Sahib, Manji Sahib, Garhi Sahib, Karah Sahib etc. The final journey of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji when he was beheaded also passed through Haryana. Aurangzeb’s army wanted to take Guru Ji’s head to Delhi but Kushala Dahiya, a farmer of Barkhalsa village in Sonipat offered his head to be taken to Aurangzeb instead of the Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
Revolutionaries also got the country free from the British
Sh. Manohar Lal said that like the sacrifice and struggle made by these great Gurus, the revolutionaries of the country have also sacrificed their lives to free India from British rule. Even after the country became independent in 1947, Kashmir Pandits were subjected to atrocities, which are rightly depicted in the movie Kashmir Files. Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi abrogated Article 370 turning the dream of One Nation, One Law, One Symbol into a reality, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
Haryana is celebrating the birth anniversary of all saints and great men
The Chief Minister said that the Haryana Government is celebrating the Birth Anniversary and Prakash Purabs of all the saints and great men so as to ensure maximum reach of their teachings among the society as through these messages a spirit of sacrifice and dedication is imbibed among the society. Panipat has been a historic land and with these celebrations today another golden chapter has been added to the state’s history. Haryana Government is determined to preserve and preach the teachings of Guru Sahib. Everyone should take inspiration from his life, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
