56 new cases and one more death reported in UT Ladakh

Leh, Aug 21: As per the media bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services UT Ladakh, total 56 persons were tested positive for COVID-19. Out of the total positive reports, CMO Leh received 38 positive reports from various testing centers of COVID Lab Chuschot, PGIMER Chandigarh and DIHAR Lab Leh. While CMO Kargil received 18 positive reports from COVID Lab Chuschot, PGIMER Chandigarh and through Rapid Antigen Test.

With the death of one more patient from Covid-19 in Kargil district, the total of death in UT Ladakh has gone up to 19.

The bulletin further details that one patient from Facility Isolation and one patient from Covid Hospital in Leh and seven patients from Home Isolation Kargil were discharged today after their negative sample reports were received yesterday.

With this, the number of COVID-19 active cases in UT Ladakh has gone up to 665; 388 in Leh district and 277 in Kargil district and that the condition of all 665 active cases of COVID-19 in UT Ladakh is stable.

265 samples were sent to PGIMER Chandigarh for testing today. Out of the total samples, 147 samples were sent by CMO Leh and 118 by CMO Kargil.

At Upshi check post 122 passengers, drivers, and helpers of 25 tankers, 48 trucks and 07 light vehicles were screened. Also 189 passengers and 194 drivers and helpers of 150 tankers, trucks and light vehicles were screened at Khaltsi check post yesterday. Vehicles were also sanitized. Also, 213 passengers were also screened at Leh Airport today.
