To keep tab on illegal mining, the Punjab Government has launched a campaign in which the Mining Department has sealed six crusher plants at village Khera Kalmot.

Giving information about this Mr. Vipan Kamboj said that due to non-payment of installment by mining contractor in Rupnagar district, the license of the mining contractor had been suspended by the Punjab government. She said that in spite of suspension of license, the team of mining department led by Mining Officer has found that six stone crushers were operating by collecting stones illegally.
Mr. Vipan Kamboj said that taking action against the six stone crusher plants namely Mahavir Stone Crusher, Gill Stone Crusher, Kalgidhar Stone Crusher, Guru Stone Crusher, New Sutlej Stone Crusher and Gurinder Doaba Stone Crusher, their registration has been canceled permanently and sealed.
The Deputy Commissioner said that information regarding these illegal crushers have been reported to the police department so that these places could be monitored continuously. He said that illegal mining would not be allowed at any level in district Rupnagar and any culprit involved in it would not be spared.
She said that district administration has already run the special campaign against the overloading vehicles thereby she appealed to the transporter to follow the traffic rules.
