7 Days Tuberculosis Prevalence Survey kick started at Ranipora, Anantnag

ANANTNAG, MAY 03: In pursuance to the directions of authorities of the health department, the District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO) Anantnag, Dr. Faheem today kick started a 7 days long Tuberculosis Prevalence Survey at Village Ranipora, here.
The Survey is being conducted by ICMR Jalma Agra survey and is part of pan India survey to be done in 625 clusters across the country. The main purpose of the Survey is to see the prevalence of Tuberculosis in different places.
In Kashmir division, the  survey is to be done in two clusters namely Ranipora, Block Shangus and Sirhama, Block Bijbehara with a survey period of 7 days at each cluster.
Speaking on the occasion, the DTO said the expert teams will conduct diagnostic tests such as X-Ray and sputum culture in a total of about 750 shortlisted persons each in the two villages.
He added such initiatives will help in identification of TB clusters and hence in elimination of the contagious disease.
