First job Fair

Beginning with great zeal from Thursday, leading companies are to conduct mega job fairs that proposes to offer 15,000 jobs in different parts of SAS Nagar district.
To ensure that youngsters participate on the job fairs, Mohali Deputy Commissioner (DC) Girish Dayalan said that more 100 leading companies would be participating in the job fair that would conclude on September 17.
Providing details about the job fair the Deputy Commissioner said that job mela would be held at Dera Bassi on Thursday on September 9 at Government College Dera Bassi, it would be held at CGC Landran on September 11, Rayat Bahra College Kharar on September 14 and Government College Phase 6, Mohali on September 17. Mr. Dayalan said that before holding the mega fair, awareness drives had started in various parts of the district at village level to encourage the youth to participate in these melas. These melas are being organised by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh under ‘Ghar-Ghar Rozgar Mission’.
He said that these melas were aimed at opening new avenues of jobs for the youth thereby making them an active partner in the socio-economic growth of the country and the state. Dayalan said that besides providing jobs to the youth these melas would also make them self-reliant by helping them to set up their own business.
ADC (D) Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that more than 100 leading companies included ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Swaraj, Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC Life, Pukhraj Health Care, Zomato and Paytm, would be visiting these melas to provide job opportunities for the unemployed youth. He said that job aspirants can register on the website www.pgrkam.com as job seekers to participate in these mega job fairs. Even if the interested person is not registered on the website then too can participate in these fairs and avail on the spot registration facility. Aspirants can also contact with district employment bureau Mohali, concerned SDMs and BDPOs offices for further information.
