September 17 should be celebrated as National Black Day in favor of ‘annadatas’: AAP
If Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal had not signed the ordinance, black day would never have dawned
Chandigarh, September 12 2021

Reacting to the announcement made by the Akali Dal Badal to observe Black Day on September 17, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab MLA and Kisan Wing state president Kultar Singh Sandhwan said, “The Badal family should celebrate Black Day with the soot of remorse on their face, because if Harsimrat Kaur Badal as the Union Minister had not signed the ordinances, the black day of farmers would never have dawned.”

In a statement issued from the party headquarters here on Sunday, Kultar Singh Sandhwan appealed to all pro-farmer organisations and political parties to observe September 17 as Black Day at the national level in favor of the ‘annadatas’. He said the Narendra Modi-led central government had become the most dictatorial government in the history of India; violating the rights of the farmers, laborers, employees and students of the country.

Sandhwan said the agitation against black agriculture laws from the land of Punjab had not only empowered the farmers in India but also created awareness among the farmers and laborers of USA, Canada, Australia, Europe and Africa, for protection of their rights. “When the Akali Dal Badal has unwittingly declared September 17 as a black day with reference to anti-agriculture black laws, they should repent for signing the agriculture ordinances and campaigning for three months in favour of agricultural laws. For this the entire Akali Dal Badal leaders led by the Badal family must celebrate Black Day with soot on their faces,” he said.

The AAP leader further said that in fact the Akali Dal Badal was one of the pioneers of black agriculture laws and had been a big supporter and propagandist of these laws. Sandhwan said the people have videos and news reports of Akali Dal Badal’s patron Parkash Singh Badal, president Sukhbir Singh Badal and former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal among others including Virsa Singh Valtoha praising the black laws.

Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that the Akali Dal Badal was as much responsible for the death of more than 600 farmers and laborers during the struggle against the black farm laws as the BJP was responsible. He said in Punjab, the Akali Dal Badal was not allowed to enter the villages and cities by the general public. “That is why they have chosen the Delhi ground to celebrate Black Day so that they can fool the people by opposing the BJP,” he added.
