RELATIONS WITH PUNJABI DIASPORA TO BE STRENGTHENED
CIVIL AND POLICE ADMINISTRATION ACCORD ROUSING WELCOME TO EDUCATION, SPORTS AND NRI AFFAIRS MINISTER AT CIRCUIT HOUSE

Punjab Education, Sports and NRIs Affairs Minister Pargat Singh on Friday emphasised that the two crucial sectors Education and Sports would be further revitalised as per the present needs so that the youngsters could excel in both fields at national and international level.
While taking guard of honour here at Circuit House after taking over as Education, Sports and NRIs Minister, Pargat Singh said that he would try best to fine tune these sectors.
Interacting with media persons, the Minister said that education and sports are interconnected fields through which the talent in youngsters could be tapped to channelize their energy in right way. The requisite reforms will also be taken in these sectors so that the ultra-modern facilities could be provided to youngsters, he added. He mentioned that a special movement would be started in the villages in coming days to connect rural folk with sports activities as it would act as catalyst against the drug menace, thereby initiating the creation of a healthy society.
Recalling Punjabi Diaspora’s role in state’s development, the Minister called upon them to join hands with the state government in this proposed campaign to take Punjab’s development to a new scale. The minister added that special committees would be formed to get inputs from renowned professional and technical experts to make functioning of both the departments more effective.
Meanwhile, the officers of Police and Civil Administration accorded rousing welcome to the minister during his maiden visit to the city. MLA Avatar Henry Junior, Rajinder Beri, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori, Commissioner of Police Naunihal Singh, SSP Naveen Singla also welcomed the cabinet minister by offering him a bouquet of flowers on his arrival.
