Feroz Khan reviews pace of progress on works under Rural Development Sector in Kargil

KARGIL SEPTEMBER 08, 2020:

In order to take stock of the physical and financial progress of different ongoing and new works under the Rural Development Sector in the district, Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad convened a meeting of the concerned officers at Council Secretariat here today.

Executive Councillor for Rural Development Er Phunsog Tashi, Executive Engineer REW Gulzar Hussain Munshi, District Panchayat Officer Kargil Shabir Hussain, Block Development Officers of different blocks besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.

During the course of the meeting, the CEC took brief from the officers about the progress achieved on different ongoing and approved schemes under the Special Development Package (SDP), State Sector, Capex Budget, 14th FC, MGNREGA, Back to Village, CDF and other related schemes.

The meeting was informed that during the current financial year Rs 139 crores 64 lacs have been released for 478 approved works out which tendering of 96 works has already been completed while the formulation of DPRs and tendering in case of other works is in different stages.

It was further given out that 135 works at total cost of 19 crores 6 lacs and 72 works at a cost of 7 crores 38 lacs stand approved under State Sector and District Plan respectively out of which the tendering of 21 works have been completed so far.

The officers concerned also informed the CEC that almost 22% of the works have been tendered while DPRs have been prepared in case of almost 80% of the works.

As regards to the progress achieved on MGNREGA and PMAY the CEC was informed that out of a target of 15 lac man-days 4 lac man-days have been generated so far while 998 cases out of a target of 1000 have been cleared under PMAY.

Underlining the need to achieve concentrated progress on different nature of works keeping in view the limited working season, CEC Khan stressed the officers to accelerate the pace of execution of works while also taking due care of quality and quantity parameters so that targets are achieved in a timely manner.

Meanwhile, to ensure the fast pace execution of works, the officers sought the immediate intervention of the CEC, Kargil for deployment of Draughtsmen in the Rural Development Department, proposal with regard to the execution of works up to Rs 5 lacs through the resolution system, release of the pending 14th FC installments of the year 2018-2019 and 2019-2020, release of SBM liabilities, arrangement of adequate number of CIC and MIS Operators and in case of other related issues.

The CEC assured the officers all issues will be taken up with the UT Administration Ladakh and other concerned authorities at the earliest. He also said that as an immediate measure to address the requirement of Draughtsmen, trained Draughtsmen will be deputed from the PWD Department shortly.
